From the Console to the Stand
From the Console to the Stand is an engaging, full-day (8-hour) course designed to prepare public safety telecommunicators for the realities of the courtroom by bridging the gap between the dispatch console and the witness stand. This interactive training demystifies the legal process and empowers participants to understand how their calls, radio traffic, and documentation may become critical evidence.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of courtroom roles, hearing types, and the circumstances under which telecommunicators may be called to testify. Through dynamic instruction that includes facilitated discussion, real-world examples, pop-culture clips, and progressive hands-on scenarios, students will build the skills needed to testify with clarity, confidence, and emotional intelligence.
This course places a strong emphasis on professionalism, composure, credibility, and effective communication under pressure. When the moment comes to take the stand, telecommunicators will be prepared to confidently represent themselves, their agency, and the profession with poise and control.
