LevelUp the Connection: Customer Service in 911

Every day, telecommunicators serve as the critical connection between citizens, emergency responders, and the public safety system. Whether answering a 911 call, receiving a non-emergency request for service, coordinating multi-agency incidents, or supporting responders in the field, they are the communication hub that allows public safety to function.

This course explores customer service through the Human Capital Bridge Framework, demonstrating why telecommunicators occupy the most pivotal positions in public safety. Participants will examine how communication, professionalism, empathy, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving influence caller outcomes, responder safety, organizational effectiveness, and public trust.

Through discussion, practical exercises, and real-world scenarios, attendees will leave with a renewed appreciation for the impact of their profession and practical tools for delivering exceptional customer service during every interaction.
